De Jong Packaging and the UK

31 January 2020 De Jong Packaging is doing business in the UK since 2015. The last 5 years the company have been growing steadily and is serving hundreds of customers in fresh produce, horticultural, online, food and non-food industry. Every day we deliver our customers their corrugated boxes and trays. As a consumer you can find them in supermarkets, local markets or when you are ordering your boxes online.

Today is the day that the UK officially leaves the European Union, but it won’t leave Europe. The United Kingdom is still very close to the Netherlands, with just a few hours by ferry, 30 minutes by train to France or by plane. Business will stay as usual for the coming months. The UK and the EU will start to negotiate about trade deals which will come in effect at the end of 2020. If they don’t have an agreement they can postpone this date with 2 years.

Because both the UK and the EU need each other for many products the expectation is that there will come a trade deal. With a trade deal we can continue to do business the same as we currently do. For De Jong Packaging there is no reason to stop their business in the UK. As the fastest reliable corrugated manufacturer we offer daily deliveries in the whole of the UK in full loads or part loads. We offer deliveries from stock for day 1 for day 3 delivery.

It is good to have an alternative between the established companies which does it a bit different. With De Jong Packaging you know what board grade you are ordering and what you will get. It is not an operational board grade which will be lowered to win some margin, but you’ll receive what we have agreed.

If you order a box in preprint you know it will be good, because we have our own preprint production. In our corrugated factory we convert 2,5 million boxes per day, of which about 30% is in preprint.

So if De Jong Packaging is your current supplier, you will keep receiving your packaging. If you are interested in our products or deliveries, please contact us and we are happy to help you. To us it doesn’t matter if the UK is part of the EU or not.
