8 September 2020 Euro West is a packer of fruit and vegetables and therefore needs many boxes every day.
Before that, they already had a Boix erecting machine, but because more and more different packaging is needed, the desire for a second erecting machine arose. De Jong Verpakking now brought erected trays to Euro West daily from the erecting center in De Lier (NL). Euro West therefore always had different versions of the boxes in stock and this took up a lot of space. In order to have less space in stock and to be even more flexible towards customers, it was therefore decided to install a second Boix erecting machine. In addition, this is a big step in sustainability, because much less transport movements are required.
Placing the Boix machine was a challenging job, because the machine is on the first floor. The machine was lifted up with a heavy forklift, after which Arie and Peter from De Jong Verpakking made sure the machine was installed. The service team delivered the machine and after a training session with Euro West’s own operators, thousands of boxes now come off the conveyor belt every day, which can be filled immediately and then delivered to various customers.
